Sam Marks is a Platinum Life Master and an ABTA Master Teacher.

Sam Marks is a Platinum Life Master and an ABTA Master Teacher. Since moving to Atlanta in 1986, he has been a constant presence in local, regional, and national bridge tournaments. In 2005 he came very close to winning a national championship, placing second in the Wernher Open pairs.

Sam started teaching bridge 10 years ago, after being asked to run the Atlanta Senior Olympics bridge competition. Over this time he has taught juniors, adults, and seniors. Currently, he teaches beginners, intermediate and advanced students.

Polishing Your Basics
Tuesday Mornings 10:00 am to Noon
September 22 to October 27
The class covers bidding topics including showing strength, bidding with minimum hands, limit raises, and help suit game tries. For intermediate students.
Defense on the Other Hand Part 2
Wednesday Mornings 10:00 am to Noon
September 23 to October 28
This class will continue where Part 1 left off. We will work on defensive techniques by comparing and contrasting hands that require different techniques. Based on the ABTA award-winning book by Larry Cohen and David Bird. For advancing students.
Beginner Bridge 2
Thursday Mornings 10:00 am to Noon
September 24 to October 29
This class is the second part of Beginning Bridge. It is a good class for social bridge players who want to improve their game. We will focus on the responder and opener's bids of NT. Other topics covered include Weak 2 Bids, Strong 2 Clubs, 3 level preempts, and Takeout Doubles.
Advanced Declarer Play

We will use the power of Shark Bridge to learn about advanced finessing techniques, endplays, and squeezes. Every student will play all hands. No more falling asleep as dummy or defender, you learn on every hand. For advanced students.
